There are several suppliers of good horseback archery equipment. We’ve seen equipment from all over the world, and here’s a list of what we’ve discovered:
Lukas Novotny is one of the finest boyers you will find. His designs have evolved from the historical roots of Asiatic composite bows; he makes horn bows and longbows as well as horse bows. He has a few “standard” bows, but most are custom orders (all details from wood to draw weight to finish) and he has a wait list of about two years — worth the wait if you’re serious about your archery. Lukas also makes thumb-rings and quivers.
Rose City Archery
RCA has been making Port Orford cedar arrows since 1932 and are the largest supplier in the world. If you’re looking for the traditional look of wood arrows, RCA is a good source. They also carry other archery supplies for target and hunting.
David Gray’s website is a small portal into his vast knowledge of the history of mounted archery. There you will find accurate and interesting reading and over 100 uncommon reference books to choose from. He and his wife Phyllis also deal in fine bows, quivers and other archery equipment from all over the world.
Top-quality leather garments from head to toe, with archery-specific equipment, too. Lots of selection and custom work available.
